A driveway fails from the bottom up long before it starts to look bad from the top, which is why we begin every one by looking at what is already under it.
Some driveways only need resurfacing. Others sit on a subbase that has moved so far out of shape that an overlay would crack in the same places within a season, and the honest answer is a tear-out and replacement. We say which one it is before any work is priced.
Base first
Custom asphalt driveway installation starts with a properly prepared subbase, graded so water runs off the surface instead of standing on it. That grading is invisible in the finished job and it is the single thing that decides how long the driveway lasts.
Finish
Hot-mix asphalt is laid and compacted to a smooth, even surface with clean edges against lawn, apron and garage slab. Where a homeowner wants more room, we extend or widen in the same visit rather than coming back to patch a cold seam in later.
Local ground
Our Charlotte asphalt paving team knows regional soil, traffic patterns and weather, which is what lets us build for the property in front of us rather than to a standard detail.
